Kuball & Kempe are style and brand consultants, tastemakers, interior designers, fashion journalists and also the owners of a charming boutique for tableware and interior design in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence in the south of France. In this fifth postcard it says:

‚Today we have something special that only one person can create and that has a wonderful story. Over thirty years ago on a trip to Denmark I discovered a small ceramic pottery in Faaborg. Erik the craftsman and I were both shy boys who immediately noticed the fantasy that united us. At that time, I bought pots with lions’ heads on the sides in bright colours.

Already in Hamburg they adorned my balcony and then moved to Provence. The craftsman’s name is Erik is just as old as me and later moved his shop, which looks like something out of a fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, to Copenhagen. He makes everything himself and by hand and for our shop in Saint-Rémy he makes very special colours and we work closely together.

The Nordic charm paired with the temperament of the south spreads its own esprit and the Danish clarity and the flamboyant colours can be wonderfully combined with any furnishing style. A bit like Flemish paintings, Erik always surprises us with new individual pieces, that Kuball & Kempe style perfectly completes. A lifelong friendship.‘
