The PH plate (Tallerken) was designed in 1958 by Poul Henningsen for the Langelinie Pavilion in Copenhagen, surrounded by water. And that’s, where Henningsen got some inspiration: the shade mimics the circular waves that occur when a stone is thrown into the water. The lamp is made of copper, the inside of the rings are coated white.
