The Angelo Brotto Lamp
The Angelo Brotto Lamp
Craftsmanship and luxury often go hand in hand – precisely because sculptural qualities and attention to detail take a lot of time, both in the design process and in the realisation. Angelo Brotto may serve as a good example for this ethos: born in Venice in 1914, his first works included commissions from the Peggy Guggenheim Collection.
Brotto got well-known for his lighting design in collaboration with the Murano glass manufacturer „Esperia“ in the 1960s and 1970s. Together their experimental approach changed the traditional way in which the art of Murano glassmaking was applied in lighting designs. He also collaborated with italian design brands such as Venini, Fontana Arte, Stilnovo and Poltronova.
