A beautiful piece of history
Saint-Exupéry’s special suitcase
Travelling like a gentleman – Saint-Exupéry’s special suitcase
This is the monogrammed travel case created by Au Départ in 1920 for the young Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The writer and aviator who became the world-famous author of “The Little Prince”.
This trunk is so to say the beauty case of a very well-groomed gentleman of those times. It includes a folder with a manicure- and pedicure-set, one comb with a folder, four brushes, six beautiful little glass bottles (for creams, powders and gels) with silver cups, a shoehorn and a mirror.
The treasure within this unique trunk is a folder that contains a leather-bound notebook with sketches and notes of the author.
Especially for us Au Départ CEO Gianfranco Maccarrone kindly arranged a photo shoot of this little treasure.
