LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

Dear Reader,

I love to explore what makes life worth living but for as long as I can remember, I’ve been bored by the lifestyle media that fails to match my wide range of interests and expectations beyond the marketing norm.

I’m tired of the one-dimensional higher-faster-further-world of the last century and I don’t want to waste time with soulless stuff.

Luxury for me is not about buying expensive things – it’s about culture, knowledge and being able to appreciate quality.

To me, luxury means more than my hopeless addiction to handcrafted shoes from London, Florence or Tokyo. It means a regular supply of intriguing books, beautifully composed songs in vast quantities and a perfect G&T or two.

I’m fascinated by the latest insights in quantum physics, AI, political science and history.

I love the light in the south of France, the buzz of big cities – and solitude from time to time.

Knowing that there is no reasonable alternative to optimism I try to focus on people and brands who prefer to work on bold changes and utopias rather than to surrender to fatalism and greed.

I also spend a lot of energy re-sorting my vinyl records for no apparent reason on a Tuesday, or dancing foolishly into the night on a Thursday and counting the days until I travel the world again.

With all this in mind I developed The EDUCATED COOL with a core team of like-minded people.

We would love to inspire you from time to time – a very warm welcome to you!

I’m tired of the one-dimensional higher-faster-further-world of the last century and I don’t want to waste time with soulless stuff.

Luxury for me is not about buying expensive things – it’s about being aligned with myself and being able to appreciate quality.

To me, luxury means more than my hopeless addiction to handcrafted shoes from London, Florence or Tokyo. It means a regular supply of intriguing books, beautifully composed songs in vast quantities and a perfect G&T or two. I don’t like cricket but do love tennis, football and road cycling. I’m fascinated by the philosophy of Toltec shamans, the latest insights in quantum physics, AI, political science and history.

I still miss Prince,
I love the light in
the south of
France, the buzz
of big cities and
solitude from time
